Tromboembolismo pulmonar tras realización de artroscopía de rodilla. Reporte de caso

RESUMEN
La cirugía artroscópica de rodilla resalta como uno de los procedimientos quirúrgicos más comunes en ortopedia y traumatología. La incidencia de este tipo de procedimientos llega a 3.5 millones de intervenciones mundiales por año. La tromboprofilaxis se realiza fundamentalmente con heparinas de bajo peso molecular; sin embargo, la dosificación, indicación y duración de la misma son un tema de debate actual. La intención es prevenir tanto la trombosis venosa profunda como el tromboembolismo pulmonar. El objetivo es mostrar un caso clínico que reporta la ocurrencia de trombosis venosa profunda y tromboembolismo pulmonar posterior a la intervención artroscópica de rodilla y caracterizar detalladamente al paciente.
