Frecuencia de citomegalovirus humano asociado a abortos

RESUMEN
Objetivo. Conocer la frecuencia de citomegalovirus (CMVH) identificados en mujeres que abortaron.
Material y métodos. Se examinaron 182 muestras de sangre materna y de tejido trofoblástico de mujeres que abortaron. Se extrajo el DNA de las muestras obtenidas y fue sometido a un estudio de PCR para identificar el virus.
Resultados. Los resultados fueron positivos en 39 muestras de sangre materna (21.4%) y en 34 de los estudios hechos en el trofoblasto (18.7%).
Conclusiones. Los resultados confirman que la infección activa por CMVH se asocia alrededor de dos de cada diez abortos que ocurren en el primer trimestre de la gestación.
