ABSTRACT
Pigmented purpuric dermatoses (PPD) are an heterogeneous group of dermatoses characterized by petechiae,
pigmentation and occasionally telangiectasia, sharing common histopathology features as erythrocyte
extravasation, hemosiderin deposition, capillaritis, with minimal inflammatory infiltrates, but vasculitis
is not present. We review the different types of clinical conditions, with emphasis on recently proposed
that certain varieties of pigmented purpuric dermatoses may be precursors of mycosis fungoides as well as differential
diagnoses and current treatment.
