ABSTRACT
Introduction: Few neuropsychological test have been validated for hispanic speaking children between 7 to 10 year of age. It
is indispensable to have abbreviated neuropsychological screening test to avoid the unnecessary application of large and time
consuming test.
Objectives: To know the construct’s validity of ACB’s subtests and their utility as screening method to
diagnosis of focal cerebral functional deficit.
Patient and methods: A group of 69 children suffering of Rolandic’s epilepsy
were recluided. We search for contruc’s validity correlating different score on ACB’s subtests with score obtained with the
application of cognitive test that have been sufficiently proven such as Wechsler Inteligent Scale for children, Bruinninks-
Oseretsky motor-dexterity’s test and the Chilhood Neuropsychological Evaluation developed by Rosselli-Cock M et al (38). To
know the validity of different ACB’s subtest Sperman range test was analized. We have considered significant correlations to p
values less than 0.05.
Results: The ACB showed a high reliability test re-test. Statistical significant correlation was obtained
in the following neurosychological skills: verbal and visuo-spatial skills, executive functions and grapho-motor functions; r ›
0.70 and p ‹ 0.05.
Conclusion: The ACB is a reliable, score’s stable and quick screening neuropsychological test to diagnose
focal functional cerebral deficits.
