ABSTRACT
In 70% of the cases, the prostate cancer is detected in advanced stadiums, for that the gene DD3 PCA3 is an interesting marker candidate for diagnose and predict, since it’s one of those but specific for the prostate cancer.
Objective. To determine and to analyze the expression of the gene DD3PCA3, in tissue with prostate cancer and BPH.
Methods. In this study we carry out the quantification of the mRNA of the gene DD3PCA3 developing the methodology to determine the expression using the transcription reverse-PCR time-real (Rotor-Gene 3000).
Results. The expression of the DD3PCA3 was determined in prostate cancer and it was compared with benign hyperplasia, being expressed 30.4 times (p‹ 0.0001) in the neoplasm; the expression average for the neoplasm and hyperplasia was respectively of 1745 and 57.4.
Conclusions. In this study we found that there is expression of the gene significantly bigger DD3PCA3 in the neoplasm compared with the hyperplasia; for that this gene can be used as a marker early tumoral, being carried out in biopsies of patient with suspicion of prostate cancer.
