Evaluation of the nutritional status in patients with cancer

ABSTRACT
A suitable nutrition intervention is able to prevent and to fight with complications of malnutrition, present in 20% of diagnosis cancer patients and it is increased until 80 % in the cases of terminal disease. The nutritional evaluation is obtained from dietetic, biochemical, clinical and anthropometric parameters, the aim is to determine the nutritional state of the patient in order to planning and the appropriate nutritional intervention to avoid weight loss, secondary effects, to increase the treatment response and quality of life improvement.
