Evaluación del estado de nutrición en pacientes con cáncer

RESUMEN
Una intervención nutricional adecuada es capaz de prevenir y combatir complicaciones de la desnutrición en los pacientes oncológicos, la cual se presenta en 20% al tiempo de diagnóstico y se incrementa hasta un 80% en los casos de enfermedad avanzada. La evaluación nutricional se puede obtener a partir de parámetros dietéticos, bioquímicos, clínicos y antropométricos, su objetivo es determinar el estado de nutrición del paciente y planear la apropiada intervención nutricional, la cual ayuda a mantener el peso, aumentar la respuesta al tratamiento, disminuir la incidencia de complicaciones y mejorar la calidad de vida del paciente.
