ABSTRACT
Introduction: Subarachnoid hemorrhage represents one of principal causes of entrance to intensive care unit for neurological pathology, with high morbility and mortality.
Objective: Determining factors prognosises than have influence in the final outcome in the patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage for rupture of aneurysm.
Patients and methods: It was a prospective study, observational and descriptive where evaluated patients with diagnosis of hemorrhage subarachnoid for rupture of aneurysm from January 2001 to December of 2005. Data obtained included age, Glasgow to the entrance and leave, Hunt and Hess, Fisher, levels of glucose to the entrance, PaCO2, PaO2, late days neurosurgery, background of hypertension and diabetes mellitus.
Aftermath: They evaluated 76 patients, 57 (75%) men and 19 (25%) women, with elderly average of 55 years. 37 died (49%) and survived 39 (51%). Comparing statistically variables, statistics in the age, being halfway of 52 years in the deceases as compared with 58 years in the survivors found significance itself (p 0.01). Time late surgical Kaplan’s analysis, he evidenced a decrease of probability to survive when increasing the days late surgical.
Conclusion: Age, glicemia to the entrance and late surgical days had influence in the final outcome of the patients with hemorrhage subarachnoid for rupture of aneurysms.
