ABSTRACT
The case of a 9 years-old girl with a disease lasting eight months, characterized only by a tumor under the skin in the palm of the right hand, with slow growth, without numbness decrease of the muscular force, or vascular compromise. The main symptom was pain of regular intensity when holding objects. She was programmed for a surgical exploration with a biopsy, with the pre operating diagnosis of soft weave tumor of the dominant hand. During surgery, a tumor was found which invaded all of the vaginas of the median nerve. The tumor was exiccated completely and a tendon transposition was performed to preserve the opposition of the thumb. The result of the histopathological study was neurofibroma of the median nerve. Six months after this surgery, there was not a recurrent tumor and a zone of anesthesia from fingers 1 to 4 in the area of the median nerve as a sequel, that cause a loss of about 20% of the hand function due to sensitivity deficiency to perform fine clamp.
