Percepción del peso corporal, comportamientos alimentarios y calidad de vida en estudiantes mexicanos

RESUMEN
El objetivo fue analizar la percepción del peso corporal, comportamientos
alimentarios de riesgo y su asociación con la calidad
de vida (CV) por género, en estudiantes de preparatoria de
Ciudad Guzmán, Jalisco, México en el año 2010. Diseño transversal
analítico. Participaron 177 adolescentes de preparatoria,
de 14 a 16 años que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión.
Se auto-administró un cuestionario en línea con el módulo
perceptual del YQOL-R, y siete ítems acerca del peso adaptados
del YRBS 2007. Se encontró CV más alta para quienes
reportaron peso percibido cercano al correcto y respecto a
quienes trataban de mantenerse en su peso. La percepción
del peso corporal y lo que trataba de hacer con su peso solo
mostró diferencias en la CV para las mujeres, con la menor
puntuación para aquellas que percibían sobrepeso y querían
bajar de peso
