RESUMEN
Escabiosis es una enfermedad cosmopolita, contagiosa y pruriginosa
que se observa, sobre todo, en menores de 5 años durante
la época invernal, y se transmite de persona a persona
en lugares hacinados, como asilos u orfanatos. El diagnóstico
estriba en la detección del agente causal mediante raspado de
piel y el tratamiento se fundamenta en medicamentos tópicos y
sistémicos. El pronóstico es favorable si se trata correctamente.
