Fracturas cerradas de la diáfisis tibial

RESUMEN

Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica y actualización sobre el manejo de pacientes con fracturas cerradas de la diáfisis tibial. Se analizaron aspectos importantes como clasificación, factores de mal pronóstico y alternativas de tratamiento. En este último aspecto se profundizó en el manejo conservador y/o quirúrgico. Con respecto al tratamiento conservador se hace referencia fundamentalmente a la utilización de enyesados. Por otra parte en el manejo quirúrgico se analizaron variantes como el enclavijado intramedular, la fijación con placas AO y el uso del fijador externo plasmando claramente las indicaciones de cada uno de estos medios de fijación. Por último exponemos un algoritmo de tratamiento para el manejo de pacientes con este tipo de fracturas.
