Vulnerability to stress in nursing students on new entry to the Faculty of Higher Studies Iztacala

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The entrance to the University causes academic stress in students, coupled with the fact that they are in the second stage of adolescence, which constitutes the entrance to a social situation of development, that is distinguished by new complexities for their development, which cause greater or lesser less emotional or social instability.Objectives: To evaluate the level of vulnerability to stress in nursing students new to FESI.
Methodology: Probabilistic sample of 142 students (confidence level 90% and precision 10%), variables: sociodemographic and vulnerability to stress. A questionnaire was applied: Vulnerability to stress (Quevedo, 2005), Cronbach's Alpha 0.92, with prior informed consent. Database in SPSS-V23, intervals were established to evaluate vulnerability level.
Results: 81.6% are regularly vulnerable, 9.2% little vulnerability, 9.2% very vulnerable. In subscales by items; 93.7% have a regular risk of getting sick, 55.6% the strength of the nervous system is high, 73.2% social reactivity is regular. There is no association between the level of vulnerability and sex, with (χ2).
Conclusions: The timely detection of stressful situations in students, becomes a priority task to reduce the factors that can affect health.
