Aquatic neurotherapy treatment in children smaller than 4 years

ABSTRACT
Objective: To facilitate and to reinforce neurodevelopment of children motricity through the kindness of the water, stimulating all spheres and biopsycosocial aspects, fomenting the socialization and learning.
Material and method: The study includes 60 patients 30 females and 30 males between 3 months to 4 years of age, with diagnostic of high neurological risk representing the populations. The 60% corresponded brain damage and 40% Down syndrome. The values of motorboat area with the test Battelle, carrying out a basal application and another in the course of the year of following. The treatment with the help of adaptation to the aquatic means, inhibition abnormal reflective postural, dissociation of totalitarian patterns, facilitation of movement patterns and multisensorial stimulation.
Results: They were obtained according to the phases of the development, observing facilitation of the motive abilities. The patients of high risk reached their development prospective motor according to the chronological age every 3 months; where 80% (n = 21) they began in the phase I, the 15% (n = 4) in the phase II AND the 3%(n = 1) in the phase III to the I group finish the 80% (n = 21) in the phase V. The Following to the down patients where the 60% (n = 6) they began in the phase I 30% (n = 3), in the phase II AND 10%(n = 1) in the phase III, to the term 80% in the phase V, regarding the patients of brain damage the 29% (n = 7) of them they began in the phase I, 37% (n = 9) in the phase II and 34% (n = 8) in the phase III to the I finish the 71% (n = 16) in the phase V.
Conclusion: The aquatic neurotherapy stimulates the motricity facilitating the neurodevelopment, beside support the emotional and social interrelationship.
