ABSTRACT

Bone availability in the maxillary posterior region is compromised by premature loss of teeth, periodontal disease, excessive prosthetic load or hyperneumatization of sinus cavities, after tooth exodontics that are below these cavities. That is why this area presents numerous implantological challenges, however, there are numerous treatments that allow obtaining predictable results similar to those obtained in other areas of the maxillary or mandible. The placement of bone augmentation or graft materials for subsequent implant treatment is the main purpose of maxillary sinus. This article shows a clinical case that describes the technique of lateral surgical approach and filling of the antral cavity with an allograft (DFDBA) in combination with an autograft, for the subsequent placement (6 to 8 months later) of two dental implants.
