ABSTRACT
The paper presents the case of a 28-year-old female patient who had a mandibular torus and history of an adverse reaction to local anesthetics. In order to perform a maxillofacial surgical procedure, analgesia by acupuncture and electrostimulation was used. The patient had an adequate analgesic response and an uneventful postoperatory recovery. No similar case was found in literature dealing with acupuncture analgesia or maxillofacial surgery.
