ABSTRACT
The use of the cap by the nursing staff has represented a symbol of hierarchy and identification however being an article that is on exposure to the hospital environment plays an important role in transporting all that microorganism that is able to grow in it leads to the cap being included in the chain of nosocomial infections as a fomite. The use of the cap is unnecessary, it is considered a negative practice because it serves as a reservoir and carrier of microorganisms that can cause Infections Associated with Health Care within the health institutions. It only recommends carrying it in classrooms, congresses, courses, ceremonies but never in in-hospital facilities.REFERENCES
