ABSTRACT

Objective: To describe the radiological findings of patients diagnosed with granulomatous mastitis for 4 years in the imaging service of the Ixtapaluca Regional High Specialty Hospital.
Material and methods: Descriptive, observational, transverse and retrospective study of clinical, pathological and radiological records of 18 patients with granulomatous mastitis diagnosed in the corresponding period from January 2014 to December 2018 in the Regional Hospital of high specialty of Ixtapaluca, obtaining the radiological findings.
Results: Eighteen patients was studied, 15 patients (83%) were diagnosed with idiopathic granulomatous mastitis and 3 (17%) with a diagnosis of granulomatous mastitis associated with Corynebacterium amycolatum, Corynebacterium kroppenstedtii and Finecoldia magna. The radiological findings are broad from single or multiple nodules, focal asymmetry, cutaneous thickening, adenomegalies, among others.
Conclusion: The most frequent radiological findings were: in ultrasound the heterogeneous collection or collections predominantly hypoechoic (89%) and in the mammography the focal asymmetry (72%).
