ABSTRACT
Psychological support is one of the strategies of the Center for Support and Orientation for Students of Iztacala (CAOPE), which meets the needs of the student community, providing the skills and tools necessary to face the risks to their physical and psychological health by promoting their own welfare. The model is based on Person Centered Approach, which postulates a help relationship between user-client. Here we recognize the capabilities that each person has to transcend from the awareness they can make in relation to their counselor. Listening through the other will allow you to make your own paths. Currently there is a growing demand for students seeking psychological care. The emotional health of the students is something that must be addressed promptly. The student requests attention by completing a form online. A counselor (young person in social service within the CAOPE) gets in touch with him to agree on the day and time of attention. In the process, the correct use of humanistic instrumentality is sought. The approach used allows us to look at another human being that requires attention, to be heard without feeling judged in order to recognize oneself in his own discourse. Students with various problems report a significant improvement in the formation of the integrated self, becoming more proactive, determined and responsible. As for the facilitator that serves the student, the development of the three basic attitudes posed by Rogers is achieved, achieving a double profit (client and counselor obtain growth process). It is considered that the strategy is an effective accompaniment alternative for university students who are looking for a space for listening and reflection.REFERENCES
