ABSTRACT
Background: Uterine arteriovenous malformation (AVM) are a
rare condition with approximately 100 cases reported in literature.
This pathologic change affects women´s emotional and physical con-
dition, showing as difficult control abnormal uterine bleeding. Early
diagnosis and proper treatment can lead to morbimortality reduction
and better prognosis.
Clinical case: We present the case of a female 22 years old, diagnosed
with a uterine AVM by hysteroscopy and ultrasound. Management
were initially done with selective progesterone receptor modulator
due to the fertility desire, without good response. A fistulectomy was
realized with an innovating technique involving the use of Doppler
ultrasound to guide de procedure limited to the affected area, preserving
healthy tissue with a successful response.
