Psychophysiological evaluation anxiety in alcohol withdrawal syndrome: case study

ABSTRACT
Addictive behavior of alcoholism is one of the most common
problems in the area of health sector. It is usually regarded as a
disease that requires proper treatment according to the severity
of the symptoms experienced by patients. One of the most
common psychology symptoms, which drive a person to
relapse during the withdrawal phase, is the manifestation of
anxiety, so it has become necessary timely identification in the
health sector. It is necessary to use additional instruments to
enable the completion of a comprehensive psychophysiological
evaluation that includes anxiety; with the finality get a measure
more objective of the same, during the withdrawal phase. In this
research a case study with a male patient aged 47 was
performed. For the evaluation and diagnosis Anxiety Inventory
Beck (BAI), the Test Anxiety Hamilton, the Rating Scale of
Alcohol Withdrawal Syndrome (CIWA-AR), the Test of
Discrimination Alcohol MICHIGAN (MAST) was applied the
Inventory of Drinking Situations (ISCA) and the General Health
Questionnaire Goldberg (GHQ28).The results shows that the
manifest of anxiety has a more impact to prove one relapse;
Therefore, proposed a treatment psychological and medical.
