ABSTRACT
The implications of neurodevelopmental disorders frequently include attentional difficulties as well as in memory and executive
functioning, which traditionally have been taken care of from the medical-pharmacological perspective, from the area of
education (due to the large impact on academic performance), and, recently, from neuropsychology for diagnosis and cognitive
stimulation. However, it is noteworthy that, coupled with cognitive difficulties, socio-affective sphere difficulties (constant
behavioral alterations) stand out, which impact both at home and in their general social interaction. Primary care to these health
problems is almost nonexistent. Although several studies have highlighted that prematurity and low birth weight are major risk
factors for the presence of neurodevelopmental disorders, little is done in the early stages and it is even more complicated the
offer of comprehensive care models that include drug treatment (if necessary and/or according to the pathology), cognitive
stimulation (neuropsychological and educational) and socio-emotional care for both the patient and the family.
