ABSTRACT
This paper analyzes the psychometric properties of a scale
(CAdT-30) developed with the purpose of detecting effort
decreases, lateness and absences at the job. With this purpose
we administered a pool of 74 items related to job absenteeism
which were administered to 356 qualified and non
qualified workers belonging to different trades. Exploratory
factor analysis revealed a four factor structure consisting of
masking of personal situations, legally justified absences, lateness
and unjustified absences and unjustified use of company
resources. In order to get a shorter scale we selected
the 30 items with best loadings on these four factors. The
resulting scale showed good reliability values. Taking it intoaccount the CAdT-30 scale may be a tool of great value to
assess job withdrawal behaviors.
