Gestational trophoblastic disease incidence in general hospital

ABSTRACT
Objetive: It was to report the incidence of gestational trophoblastic
disease (ETG) at the General Hospital Dr. Manuel Gea González for a
period of three years and secondarily describe clinicas characteristics,
the ratio of the data reported by ultrasound with histopathological
findings,association with the blood group of patients, comorbidities
presented and geographical origin.
Material and Methods: This study was retrospective and performed
at the General Hospital Dr. Manuel Gea González, clinical records
were analyzed in the period January 2012 to March 2015. Inclusion
criteria were patients of reproductive age, ultrasound, quantitative,
blood group and histopathology report confirming the ETG, patients
with other histophatoogical diagnoses.
Results: 57 patients were analized the age of the patients was 23 years
on average, being an incidence of 7.7 moles per 1000 births, predominating
in the group of 13 to 20 years primigravid, complete mola was
the most frequent in 56%; 73% agreed ultrasonographic findings with
histopathological report.
Conclusions: The incidence of ETG was higher in our study compared
to the data found in the literature. The TVB was the main clinical
manifestation that led patients to consultation in the emergency department.
The presentation of concomitant preeclampsia in our group of
patients was lower compared to what is stated in the literature. No check
relationship between blood group of patients and the presentation of
hydatidiform mole.
