ABSTRACT
The antiphospholipid syndrome
is a disorder characterized by
recurrent venous or arterial
thromboembolic events, or
pregnancy morbidity. In
addition to these clinical
manifestations, there are
autoantibodies that target
specific phospholipid-binding
proteins. Although the presence
of these autoantibodies is what
help us to make the diagnosis,
but the actual mechanism
whereby these autoantibodies
cause hypercoagulable state
remains elusive.
