RESUMEN
El hiperaldosteronismo primario
es la causa más frecuente de
hipertensión arterial secundaria.
Su manejo clínico ha ido
evolucionando significativamente
durante los últimos 50 años,
gracias a técnicas de tamizaje
y diagnósticas más sensibles y
específicas. El muestreo venoso
adrenal para la diferenciación de
hiperplasia adrenal bilateral del
aldosteronoma o de la hiperplasia
adrenal unilateral, es de suma
importancia ya que el tratamiento
difiere y se ha convertido en el
método de elección debido a que
la tomografía computarizada
apenas consigue una sensibilidad
del 50% para diferenciar entre
estas enfermedades. En el
presente caso se reporta el uso de
este procedimiento en un paciente
de 36 años con aldosteronoma
izquierdo y dimensiones no bien
detalladas por imagen radiológica.
