ABSTRACT
The work experience in the study of disabilities in the native communities of the Maroa municipality, in the Amazonian jungle of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, allowed confirming the family health situation in this region. A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out in order to determine the socioeconomic risk factors and the health situation influencing the family health in this region. Among the unfavorable health indicators found 69,06 % of the families had intestinal parasitism, buccal sepsis in 74,29 %; lack of gestation control and medical assistance during childbirth was found in 79,22 % and 77,36 % of women respectively. These results allow designing an integral strategy for improving family health in Maroa.
