ABSTRACT
Introduction: In the orthopedic pathology of immature skeleton exists a group of clinical entities known as seudoneoplastic lesions, which have a well definite pattern of presentation, are susceptible of clinical and radiological characterization, and therefore generally they do not require a biopsy for their diagnosis.
Objective: Submit a guide that assist us to identify easily the more common seudoneoplastic lesions in the skeleton of children and teenagers, trying in this way to avoid unnecessary treatments.
Material and methods: We perform a bibliographic review that help us to recognize the more important aspects of the diagnostic and treatment of these diseases.
Results: Were investigated and established the clinical, radiological and therapeutical parameters of the simple bone cyst, aneurismatic bone cyst, non ossifying fibroma, fibrous dysplasia, osteofibrous dysplasia, eosinophilic granuloma and enostosis.
Discussion: It is fundamental to know the clinical and radiological tools that help us to differentiate the seudoneoplastic lesions from a true neoplasia in the skeleton of our young patients.
Conclusions: The accurate identification of a skeletal lesion is based in the clinical aspect, subsequently in the radiological aspect, and finally in the histological analysis of the lesion in study.
