ABSTRACT
Rogelio Díaz-Guerrero developed the construct «historicalsociocultural-premises» (PHSC) to refer to a system of beliefs and norms that govern the behavior of individuals of a specific socio-culture. He built a questionnaire of 123 ítems to measure the suitable construct and he carried out numerous research projects in the course of the years 1959, 1970 and 1994 that allowed him to understand the behavior of Mexicans. Following the same line of investigations, Díaz Loving and associates have administered the PHSC questionnaire to 586 men and women with secondary education of the federal district. The psychometric analyses have been carried out separating the items that correspond to «norms» of those that correspond to «beliefs». This new grouping has allowed observing, with more clarity, the cultural changes and those of the individuals; also, the discoveries previously obtained have been confirmed. For new research it is suggested to take samples in diverse areas or regions of the country and also to explore individuals of different ages and not just adolescents. In this type of studies we find important the biopsychological maturity of individuals. The investigation that is commented here opens new problems for the theory and the empiric investigation in the area of the Etnopsychology.
