ABSTRACT
Immediate postoperative care management in cardiac surgery requires a special review due to the complexity and aggressiveness of the surgical intervention and circulatory support, especially extracorporeal circulation have incidence in evolution and complications of patient, therefore they require a complete monitoring and an integral, multidisciplinary and dynamic management in critical care, when a complication occurs regularly will affect the morbimortality of the patient. For this reason in this article we will carry out a practical review of the principals immediate postoperative complications in patients who underwent to cardiac surgery with extracorporeal circulation: mediastinal bleeding, acute pulmonary dysfunction, low cardiac output syndrome, arrhythmias, acute kidney failure and their therapeutic approach.
