ABSTRACT
Patients with anal fissure had an increase of the resting tone of the internal anal sphincter. Operative techniques commonly used
for anal fissures include anal strech, open lateral sphincterotomy, closed lateral sphincterotomy, posterior midline sphincterotomy,
and flap coverage of the fissure. Lateral internal sphincterotomy is the surgical treatment of choice for refractory anal fissures, level
of evidence class I, and grade of recommendation A.
