ABSTRACT
Coagulation disorders that occur during surgery are more common than you think, so today anesthesiologists and physicians responsible for the Intensive Care Units (Intensivists) had an increased concern for acquired coagulopathy in critically ill patients who are in the immediate postoperative period. Disseminated intravascular coagulation is mainly due to an excessive and uncontrolled production of thrombin, triggered by various stimuli resulting from an imbalance between the activation and inhibition of the coagulation system and a delayed removal of degradation products of the coagulation. These phenomena lead to systemic intravascular fibrin deposition. The diagnosis is complex bearing in mind the variety of its pathophysiology and the key is specific and vigorous treatment of the underlying condition and in parallel intravascular volume must be replaced with necessary colloid and crystalloid blood products.
