ABSTRACT

The pseudoaneurisms of the hypogastric artery are rare, generally secondary to penetrating or bruised trauma. These represent less than 1% of all the aneurisms and they appear generally in the superior or inferior gluteal artery. The case of a masculine patient of 25 years with antecedent of gunshot wound in right buttock region is reported, which development five years later abscess into the right buttock, secondary to a bruised trauma, it was made radiological studies in which destruction of the sacrum bone was observed and the arteriography reported a false aneurism of the right hypogastric artery. Its treatment consisted of tie off the hypogastric artery, debridation and surgical washing. The treatment can be surgical or with techniques of minimum invasion like the embolization during the arteriography. The aneurism can be dealt with tie off the hypogastric artery, which is an alternative in urgency situations.
