ABSTRACT
Introduction. The urinary fistula is generally an early complication in the renal transplant whose presence is located around the 3
to 5%.
Objective. The principal objective is to determine the incidence and treatment of the urinary fistula in transplanted patients
of the HJM.
Material and method. Study retrospective, transverse. The take as universe to all the transplanted patients of January
of 1991 until May of the 2006.
Results. 120 patients of a total of 210, were included of those which 22.5% (n = 27) it presented
urinary fistula. 70.3% was masculine. Age 33.3 year-old average; 81.5% the patients had as treatment substitute dialysis. The
patient’s 66.6% their implant came from cadaverous donor. Four of five patients with previous induction presented urinary fistula.
The time average for cold ischemia and heat it was bigger in the patients with urinary in relation to the other ones, 247.4 min and
5.65 min respectively against 47.5 min and 4.65 min. The new ureterovesical implantation was not excellent statistically. The time
of presentation of the urinary fistula on the average was 12.3 days. Alone in six patients surgical treatment was required and in four
they presented complications. The time average of the closing of the urinary fistula was 20.3 days. In a patient was carried out of
the graft.
Conclusion. The urinary fistula is a complication that should be diagnosed and resolved the quickest thing possible. It
should be begun with an appropriate prevention, to carry out the diagnose specific of their localization and to individualize the
patients for their treatment.
