ABSTRACT
Peritoneal carcinomatosis was characterized by numerous nodules of various sizes on the surface of the peritoneum. Consequential locoregional progression of gastrointestinal cancers (colorectal, appendiceal and gastric) or gynecological or some primary tumors. It has been shown that intraperitoneal chemotherapy with intraoperative hyperthermia survival of patients with prolonged carcinomatosis, unlike intravenous chemotherapy only. However, this procedure is not innocuous and may present several complications, both surgical, and by the use of chemotherapeutic agents and physiological changes that are very important to know the whole picture anesthetic perioperatively. The Highly Specialized Regional Hospital of Oaxaca is southeast reference site for this surgical treatment, with the support of Dr. Jesus Esquivel and Dr. Paul Sugar Baker, world leaders that process.
