Educational Intervention to Diminish the Obesity in Housewaves through the Physical Exercise

ABSTRACT
An educational intervention including physical exercise was realized in order to
reduce obesity among houseweaves aged between 30 and 45 years who live in the
Historic Centre of Holguin City through. Among 85 obese women a probabilistic
sample of 49 of them were selected, taking into account the inclusion criteria of the
research.The anthropometric measurements included: weight, height and skin
creases. Regarding weihgt, the results showed that there was a reduction of 4.9 kg
and 4.7 kg of fat, as well as, an increase of 0.8 kg of active body mass when
comparing the measurements before and after the application of the alternative. The
authors concluded that the education and physical activity had a significant influence
on the reduction of obesity in housewaves.
