ABSTRACT
Neuroaxial anesthesia in obstetric patients assisted by ultrasonographic evaluation of the axis has given the anesthesiologist the possibility to offer a higher quality and more secure anesthesia. We did a revision of the publications (revision articles and original papers) in MEDLINE and PubMed referring to this topic in order to be able to develop an adequate and clear description of this technique for localizing and identifying the different neuroaxis structures, and to demonstrate the importance and advantages of the use of this equipment in the obstetric patient.
