ABSTRACT
Ectopic pregnancy is an entity with an incidence of 2% of all pregnancies. Its early diagnosis allows conservative management that includes the use of parenteral methotrexate achieving a success rate of almost 96% with a concomitant reduction of maternal morbidity and mortality. Abdominal ectopic pregnancy represents a minimal percentage of all ectopic pregnancies, therefore, the benefits of laparoscopic management is still under evaluation. 31 year old latin-american female complaining of transvaginal bleeding and lower abdominal pain. Diagnosis of abdominal pregnancy was integrated and laparoscopic management was performed using hydrodissection and bipolar energy. Intramuscular methotrexate was administered in one dosis postoperative. The patient recovered successfully with no evidence of complication. The authors believe laparoscopic management is appropriate for patients with early abdominal pregnancy in the cases where there is no evidence of hemodynamic stability.
