ABSTRACT
Aim: to measure dental pulp cavity and root canals of each sex and type of primary teeth
Material and methods: in a clinical, ex vivo, cross sectional and descriptive survey was analyzed a no probabilistic sample stratified by sex of five teeth for each type, arch and sex (n=200) indicates for extraction for therapeutic reasons and donate. Was conserved in distillate water for take images ortho-radials trough a radiovisiograph system in mesiodistal and vestibular-palatine perspectives under constant conditions adjusting to a known dimensional referential. Was measuring tallest, widest and longest points of cameral space and root canals in cervical, medium and apical levels by just only one observer (r=.8765). Statistical treatment was just desciptive.
Results: for female sample total length of Upper Central incisor 10.4mm, lateral:10.15mm, canines:11.98mm. For lower teeth: central 10.34mm, lateral 14.5mm, canines 13.0mm. Upper molars: first molar mesial root canal 14.4mm, distal 12.7mm, palatine 15.0mm. Second molar: mesial root canal 10.9mm, distal 7.13mm, palatine 12.5mm. Lower molares: First: mesial root canal 11.7mm, distal 14.7mm. Second molar: mesial root canal 10.8mm, distal 8.6mm. For male sample upper incisors: Central 10.8mm, lateral 11.3mm, canines 12.5mm. Lower teeth: central11.08mm, lateral 12.7mm, canines 12.64mm. Upper Molars: First: mesial root canal 12.2mm, distal 13.1mm, palatine 10.1mm. Second: mesial root canal 11.3mm, distal 9.23mm, palatine 11.2mm. Lower molars: first molar mesial root canal 12.4mm, distal 10.8mm. Second molar mesial root canal 15.3mm, distal 13.3mm.
Conclusions: each primary tooth show morphometric characteristics own of theirs.
