ABSTRACT
The main goal of treatment of VIN II-III is to avoid progression to invasive vulvar cáncer. Among the factors to consider for the treatment of VIN are the high recurrence rate, the patient’s age, and the size and location of the lesion. Nonetheless, it is of upmost importance to rule out invasión before treatment. The ideal method should safeguard vulvar anatomy and function while treating any symptoms. There are ablative, excisional as well as topical application methods. Excisional techniques have the advantage of obtaining tissue for pathology, taking into consideration that correct excisional depth is different in hairy and non-hairy areas.
