ABSTRACT
Spontaneous pregnancy loss is a surprisingly common occurrence, with approximately 15% of all clinically recognized pregnancies resulting in pregnancy failure. Recurrent pregnancy loss (has been inconsistently defined. It is defined as 3 consecutive pregnancy losses prior to 20 weeks from the last menstrual period, it affects approximately from 1% to 2% of women. However, there is a great difficulty to evaluate correctly a specific therapy, because 50% of untreated couples conceive a normal baby in the next pregnancy. Because of this reason, physicians do not follow the right procedure to diagnose this condition, hence the correct treatment is difficult to achieve. The object of this review is to analyze the problem clinically and therapeutically, reviewing the most current and frequent etiologies in this disorder. In detail, the review gives us the recommendations for early detection of the disease and emphasizes that the management must be based on evidences, avoiding experimental or unproven treatments. With the development of technology it has been noticed a change in the incidence of different etiologies demonstrating that recurrent abortion is one main causes of abortion.
