Child Abuse in Enuretic Children

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The enuresis is considered within the abuse indicators to the minor, being this a frequent pathology in children. The objective of this work was to identify to enuretics children and the abuse type toward them.
Material and Methods: A descriptive, prospective, analytic, study was carried out, through 945 domiciliary survey in search of enuretic by multidisciplinary staff in 3 social spheres of the society of Oaxaca. In Families with children and girls from 5 to 14 years old with enuretic problems according to the socioeconomic study to be able to reach 100 families for social group.
Results: 28 enuretics children were identified 13 males and 15 female corresponding to 2% of each 100 interviewed (0.6% of the total of sample) The type of physical punishment who cause the children by theirs parents or tutors are: blow (1, 8, 17)of high, middle and under social classes respectively, bath with cold water if they wet the bed (0, 1 and 9) one of middle social class and nine of inferior class, (0, 3, 11) were obligated to sleep on the floor or seated to avoid to wet the bed (0, 1, 2) were ties in genitals in the male sex (0, 0, 1) were burned in abdomen when using hommade remedies: Hot zabila with ashes,(1, 8, 15) with restriction of liquids during the day. The children’s attitudes in the psychological diagnose showed (0, 3, 6) anxiety, irritability, (1, 4, 5) anxiety associated to fear, (0, 1, 2) were shown with hostlility and (1, 0, 1) it’s behaved with indifference.
Conclusion: Is worrisome the levels of physical and psychological abuse as intents of solving the enuresis an specific program is required for this pathology.
