ABSTRACT
Motors muscles of shoulder girdle that have thoracic insertions are eight: rhomboid, levator scapulae, serratus anterior, pectoralis minor, suclavius, trapezius, latissimus dorsi and pectoralis major; the firsts four muscles have insertion on scapulae; the subclavius and trapezius make insertion on clavicle and the two lasts on the humerus. The integrity of them allow coordinated movements of the shoulder girdle wish works like fulcrum for the free shoulder movements arcs. Palsy, atrophy or absence of any of them cause dysfunction of shoulder girdle and this disturb the upper extremity functionality. We have had the opportunity of study isolated dysfunction of four mentioned muscles (Trapezius, serratus anterior, latissimus dorsi and pectoralis major). We present the cases, a review of the biomechanics alterations and the corrections possibilities.
