The work of nursing is based on the application of the methodology for the implementation of the care that makes. Direct treatment with the donor or patient allows identifying with certainty the same needs as well as the planning and execution of activities applied during daily practice. Within the area of transfusion medicine, the role of the nurse is essential. Nurse participates in the process of blood components collection, performs therapeutic aphaeresis procedures, transfuses blood components and attends the adverse reactions of the donor or patient among other important activities. According to the professionalization of the work of nursing at the global level and continuing with this trend, it is important to the implementation of the care nurse in the practice of transfusion medicine and standardizes interventions nurse performs in these procedures, which will help the nurse to the implementation of the methodology in their daily activities. Equally important is the legal regulatory that delimits the responsibility of donors, authorities and staff involved in the process of the transfusion chain by means of laws, rules and regulations.
