ABSTRACT
Introduction: In preeclampsia endothelial injury, leading to myocardial ischemia-process-placental necrosis, whereas there might be an expression of these phenomena through cardiac enzymes (troponin I, myoglobin and CPK-MB). These placental changes favor a greater number of infarcts, and necrosis. Objective: Describe the plasma levels of cardiac enzymes in preeclampsia. Material and methods: Performed a cross-sectional study in 25 patients with diagnosis of preeclampsia-eclampsia syndrome, in which it takes plasma levels of cardiac enzymes (troponin I, myoglobin and CPK-MB) and pathological report. Results: For our study was considered significant elevation of cardiac enzymes into the syndrome of preeclampsia-eclampsia, with a cutoff of 0.04 ng/mL for troponin I; of 1 ng/mL for CPK-MB and 49 ng/mL for myoglobin, according to this elevation of troponin in control, and three times the reference point, an elevation of CPK in a 43.75% of the patients at the time of diagnosis of preeclampsia-eclampsia and elevated myoglobin 5 times more of their normal ranges. The pathology report show an hemorrhagic infarcts, fibrinoid necrosis and vascular thrombosis. Conclusions: Conclude from this study that 60% of patients with preeclampsia-eclampsia syndrome can be found at an elevation of CPK enzymes MB fraction and interpreted as minor damage to the myocardium in pregnant women with hypertensive disease; these levels not reflect a myocardial infarction, but a significant correlation with placental infarctions and thrombosis.REFERENCES
