ABSTRACT
Introduction. The general urine exam (EGO), is a test that provides indicators for the study of health-disease process. The EGO studies the physicochemical characteristics (appearance, specific gravity and measurement of chemical constituents by dipstick) and microscopic characteristics (of the urinary sediment, which verifies hematuria, pyuria, casts, crystalluria), the latter part of the study we gives the possibility to obtain information on important metabolic functions of our physiology. The Universidad Veracruzana conducts annually a comprehensive health examination (ESI), a new student, this test is performed in order to determine the risk factors posed by new students, to identify chronic diseases in a timely manner degenerative. Objective. Identify alterations in the urinalysis of freshmen at the Universidad Veracruzana generation 2008. Material and methods. A study was observational, descriptive and crossreviewed electronic records of 4.016 students who underwent urinalysis, for the analysis of data for descriptive statistics using SPSS version 16.0. Results and disccussion. We have included data from 4,016 (100%) students of which 2,158 (53.7%) were females and 1.858 (46.3%) were male. The prevailing age group was between 15 and 19 years with 3.306 students (82.32%). Conclusions. The 90% of freshmen received a normal result on the parameters evaluating the urinalysis.REFERENCES
