ABSTRACT
Background: the liver transplantation should be observed beyond a medical perspective, to be included in a multi-disciplinary framework from a point of view biopsychosocial, who assumes the concept of quality of life associated with the quality of life physical, mental and social, not only with the disease
Objective: To assess the quality of life of the patients in the Hospital Angels del Pedregal by liver transplantation in the last 20 years.
Material and method: descriptive study-correlation made to assess the extent, the magnitude and the direction of the relationship between one or more variables and specify the properties of the 25 patients who answered a questionnaire and the questions raised in an interview structured, previously assessed, which included items in format scale.
Results: it demonstrated that the liver transplantation considerably improves the quality of life for patients in the final stage of the liver disease, a fact that correlates significantly with the independence and increase the ability to work and, therefore, with the integration of the patient to their family, work and social.
