ABSTRACT
Background: Chronic kidney disease is a disease with high incidence in Mexico.Material and methods: We performed a cohort study which assessed the catheter dysfunction, effectiveness, start time, balance dialysis, potassium baseline, baseline creatinine, urea basal, potassium at the end of dialysis, creatinine at the end of dialysis, urea end of dialysis and hemoglobin. The study included patients with chronic renal failure without previous catheters, without peritonitis, without obesity and Mexicans over 18 years. 60 patients were divided into two groups. Group 1: patients with onset of dialysis at 0 hours after the catheter. Group 2: patients with onset of dialysis at 12 hours after the catheter.
Results: The average age for group 1 was 46.47 and 48.40 group 2 years. Of all patients 45% were men and 55% female. insuficiencia renal crónica as a cause of diabetes mellitus was obtained in 53.3%, hypertension in 40% and others 6.66%. Urea with an average of 254.9 in the group of zero-hour and 12-hour group the average was 255.7 urea. Urea at the end of dialysis spare parts in the group of zero-hour was an average of 150.7 and 12-hour group the average was 162.7. The average initial creatinine in the group of zero-hour was 17.9 and the group of 12 hours was 16.8. Creatinine at the end of dialysis in the group of zero-hour was 10.8 and 12 hours group, the average was 10.39. The initial potassium group was 6.14 zero hour and 12 hours group average was 6.2. Potassium at the end of dialysis in the group of zero hours was 4.19 and the 12-hour group was 4.3. The p calculated by t test of measured variables was as follows: age p 0359, water balance p 0296, p 0300 TAS, TAD 0029, initial creatinine, p 0254, 0961 initial urea, creatinine at the end of dialysis p 0557 , end of dialysis urea p 0259, p 0781 initial potassium, potassium final p 0544, p 0241 initial hemoglobin, albumin, p 0582, p 0535 glucose. They conducted chi square to the variables the following results: for creatinine X2 0.16, x Manthelan of 0159, relative risk 1.18. Urea: 1.17 X2, x Manthelan 1.15, 2.25 and RR 1.58 RM. Potassium: 0.57 X2, x Manthelan 0.56, OR 1.8 and 1.38 RR.
Conclusions: The time must wait after placing a soft catheter, either at 0 hours or twelve hours later, does not increase the risk of catheter dysfunction or influence the effectiveness of dialysis.
