ABSTRACT
Introduction: The intestinal adeomatous polyposis is an autosomal dominant condition characterized by the development of multiple polyps at colon. Without a correct treatment all patients (100%) will present adenocarcinoma. There are many alternatives to the surgical treatment for this disease since Kock at 1973 describes colectomy and permanent ilestomy or proctocolectomy with ileal reservoir.
Materials and Methods: A review of clinical cases of children between 2002 to 2009, in a Medical Center about children who undergoing to total colectomy with ileal reservoir for intestinal adeomatous polyposis.
Results: Were 3 female with 7,13,14 years old. The surgery was colectomy with J or M-pouch. The first patient with manual suture and next predominant with mechanic suture. Our study without morbidity and mortality.
Discusion: There are four alternatives for surgery treatment. Past in our service we had two times for surgery, with manual suture and major possibility for complications as trasoperative hemorrage, surgery duration. However with mechanical suture we had better outcome about evolution for our patients, this is the reason because we recommended this surgery.
