Adverse reaction with use of nasal and oral sprays in pediatrics

ABSTRACT

In the present paper, we present the adverse reaction observed in 337 children treated with either cromoglycate (oral spray) or beclomethasone dipropionate (nasal spray). The age range was from three weeks old to 12 years. The minimun time of treatment was nine months. The adverse reactions observed were: with cromoglycate (2%) bad taste and with beclomethasone (6%) nasal irritation and dryness. Since the percentage of adverse reactions is very small, both are safe during the treatment of children from three weeks to 12 years of age.
